Chiltern Fire (formerly part of TRADA) has managed a fire test laboratory since 1973. With 30 years’ experience of fire resistance and reaction to fire testing, Chiltern Fire is a leading UK fire test centre for building and other materials.
Fire resistance testing quantifies the ability of products to prevent the passage of flame from one area to another. Doorsets, glazed screens, walls, floors and fire stopping products can all be tested using our horizontal and vertical testing facilities, either at:
- Full scale - 3 x 3m vertical and 4 x 3m horizontal; or
- Small scale - 1 x 1m
Reaction to fire testing measures the contribution that a material or product makes to initial fire growth. We offer the following tests:
- pr EN 11925-2 European ignitibility test
- BS EN 13823 - European Single Burning Item (SBI) test
- Cone calorimeter
