Multiple fasteners: new TRADA guidance
 TRADA Technology's revised Guidance Document 7 (GD7) Multiple fastener timber joints: guidance on BS 5268-2 and Eurocode 5 is now available to download from the TRADA website.
The Guidance Document explains the factors affecting the strength of multiple fastener joints, describes research which has been carried out, and provides new design recommendations for both BS 5268-2 and Eurocode 5 calculations.
Joints in structural timberwork are commonly made with a variety of mechanical fasteners such as nails, screws, bolts or steel dowels. A number of fasteners arranged in one or more lines form a multiple fastener joint. The load-carrying capacity of such a joint depends on the strength of both the timber and the fasteners.
GD7 Multiple fastener timber joints: guidance on BS 5268-2 and Eurocode 5 is available to download from the TRADA Bookshop in PDF format only at a cost of £15.00 (TRADA members) or £25.00 (non-members).
