Windows and the Building Regs: TRADA ‘at a glance’ briefing
 So many parts of the Building Regulations have a bearing on window design that TRADA has devoted its latest Construction Briefing to tabulating the key references in one easy to follow guide.
As Regulations Consultant Rupert Scott commented, ‘The main aim of the TRADA Briefings is to distil the huge volumes of information available from various sources into one document, to highlight the aspects most likely to affect the timber industry. Window design is influenced by many factors and the new Construction Briefing will be an invaluable reference for manufacturers and designers.'
The Briefing looks at the Regulations from various standpoints, including ventilation, fire safety, safety in operation and maintenance, accessibility and energy efficiency, signalling which sections of the Regulations cover specific aspects in England & Wales. We plan to follow this up with equivalent briefings for both Scotland and Northern Ireland.
