How long will my posts last in ground contact?
We advise that posts are kept out of ground contact or that if they are in ground contact, that they should go into concrete foundations, that provide drainage at the base. Timber in ground contact will not last nearly as long as timber kept out of ground contact, and out of the splash zone.
