Using certified timber is environmentally responsible, so what financial benefits are there?
As a timber supplier, architect, engineer or contractor involved in the specification or use of timber, it can be used as a marketing tool to separate you from companies that do not have such certification. And as regulation is increasingly moving in the direction of sustainable sourcing, soon it may not be an advantage, but a requirement. The Code for Sustainable Homes for instance, can award points for using certified timber.
