FAQs

If I have specified certified timber, how do I check this has been enforced on site?

With regard to a project or a development, project certification is the only means to ensure claims can be made for the project.  This is because although a company may have a chain of custody certificate this does not prove that the timber coming on site is certified material. The timber coming on site needs checking and verifying.  The product groups and the supplier's site where the timber is sold, processed or stored must be listed on the certificate too. Project certification was developed to alleviate these issues and enable claims of sustainable sourcing to be verified. Certificates can be checked at http://www.fsc.org/ or http://www.pefc.org/
